The Fraser Island & Reef Experience Package includes a 3 Day / 2 Night trip to Lady Elliot Island on the Great Barrier Reef, 1 night accommodation at Kondari Resort in Hervey Bay and a 2 Day / 1 Night guided safari to Fraser Island with the Fraser Island Company.

Lady Elliot Island Resort the Great Barrier Reef is situated 80km off the coast of Bundaberg with access being daily flights from Hervey Bay, Bundaberg, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane & Gold Coast. At Lady Elliot you can step off the beach & snorkel, swim or dive in an underwater world of brilliantly coloured species of marine life, or just simply relax & soak in the natural island atmosphere.

Explore the reef in a glass bottom boat, learn to scuba dive, feed the fish, take a guided reef walk or walk to a deserted beach & live the dream. With exceptionally clear water year round, you may encounter turtles, dolphins & a large variety of coral & fish or even our giant manta rays.

In season bird’s nest, turtle hatchlings emerge & migrating whales blow & breech.

Overnight rates include buffet dinner & breakfast, snorkeling equipment, glass bottom boat/boat snorkel & island tours.

Set on 20 acres of tropical landscaped gardens surrounding a natural lagoon, newly refurbished Kondari Resort is the ideal base from which to explore the sheltered beaches of Hervey Bay, world class whale watching from late July to early November and the natural beauty of World Heritage Listed Fraser Island.

Fraser Island Co 2 day safari offers a fun filled tour of World Heritage listed Fraser Island. Travelling in air-conditioned seatbelt equipped four wheel drive buses, this advanced ECO accredited tour visits Fraser Island icons. Expert commentary is provided by knowledgeable & experienced guides and the small group size allows personalized attention.

There is ample time to swim, hike, photograph, relax and savor the unique flora, fauna and amazing wildlife.

Passengers enjoy hearty meals & comfortable twin/double accommodation in permanent tents.

DAY 1: Hervey Bay - Lady Elliot Island (Dinner)

The trip begins with a 35 minute scenic flight from Hervey Bay to Lady Elliot Island (departs 10.40am daily or 3pm).

At Lady Elliot you will be met by an Island Activity Staff member, for an "Island Orientation".

Collect your snorkel, flippers and mask from Dive Shop.

Afternoon at leisure, to snorkel in the lagoon or coral gardens. Enjoy a buffet dinner in the Dining Room before evening activities, which may include presentations in the Education Centre, games and Turtle Viewing (in season).

DAY 2: Lady Elliot Island (Breakfast and Dinner)

Take an early morning snorkel or walk around the island before a full buffet breakfast on the deck overlooking coral lagoon. Free activities during the day include Reef Walking tour (tide dependent), Island Discovery and History Walks, and Glass Bottom Boat Tour.

You can also try Scuba Diving. Equipment and complete instruction provided at the PADI Dive Shop (subject to additional cost and medical survey).

DAY 3: Lady Elliot Island - Hervey Bay (Breakfast)

Full buffet breakfast is included. Return flight to Hervey Bay departs the island at approximately 9.10am or 2pm.

Meet the Kondari courtesy coach at the airport for your transfer to Kondari Resort. The afternoon is at leisure to explore Hervey Bay.

Enjoy the resort’s facilities and enjoy a swim in the pool or perhaps a hit of tennis. (room only)

DAY 4: Fraser Island (Lunch and Dinner) - 2 full days touring of Fraser Island.

The day commences with courtesy transfers from Kondari Resort with your Fraser Island tour departing at 8:30am. Travel in air-conditioned 4WD bus taking in fabulous flora and fauna. Swim in crystal clear lakes and visit pristine rainforests. Highlights include the historic Maheno shipwreck, wildlife spotting from spectacular Indian Head, hiking into Lake Wabby, swimming down fast flowing Eli Creek and strolling through Yidney Rainforest.

Enjoy a relaxed barbecue dinner in a natural bush setting.

Overnight at Cathedral beach.

DAY 5: Fraser Island - Hervey Bay (Breakfast and Lunch)

Enjoy breakfast and continue with a full day’s touring of famous Fraser Island landmarks. Enjoy scenic walks, refreshing dips and marvel at the highlights of 75 Mile Beach.
A delicious picnic lunch in included.
Return to Hervey Bay approx. 5.30pm.

Accommodation

Standard accommodation on both Lady Elliot Island and Fraser Island is permanent safari style tents. Upgrades to ensuited facilities are available.

What to bring

Swimming costume and towel comfortable walking shoes hat sunscreen insect repellent camera and a small overnight bag.

Exclusions

This package is not available for travel between 15 December & 15 January.

Lunch on Lady Elliot Island and dinner or breakfast is not included in the package.
The Enviromental Management Charge is also not included and is payable direct to Lady Elliot upon check in.
